Don't call it a comeback

Don't call it a comeback

I’ve been here for years, and all summer.

Things I am good at:
 – Overestimating how much I can accomplish in any given amount of time.
 – Drinking coffee.
 – Freaking out about not being about to accomplish all the said things, referenced above.

Things I am not so good at:
 – Pacing myself.
 – Planning to take days off/breaks/periods of rest for any time.
 – Eating beets.

I’m sorry to have left you hanging all summer.
Next year, I will just plan to take a break from June-September.
Or maybe, like always, I will think I will have more time than I actually do and you’ll be left wondering all summer why I’ve not written anything.

The second option is more likely.

Here’s a bit about what summer was like, what was filling my time instead of writing and the things I’m so sad to see go as fall settles in.

I’m terrible at eating beets too. But we get a lot from our CSA every summer and I try lots of new recipes. or just compost them.

Currently trying beet hummus, with lots of dill, in addition to the usual hummus ingredients. It’s not bad. and very magenta.

All literary lapses are forgiven with this photographic proof of life.
